Glade Valley Community Services, Inc. (GVCS) is a local non-profit providing services to residents of Walkersville / Woodsboro, and the surrounding Glade Valley area in Frederick County, Maryland. GVCS was founded in 2004 and was granted 501(c)(3) tax exempt status in September 2005.
To meet the needs of families and individuals in the Walkersville, Woodsboro and surrounding Glade Valley area of Frederick County, MD. through the coordination of donations of time, talent, money and other resources.

Educational Assistance Fund For Glade Valley
The Peg and Orley Bourland Educational Assistance Fund provides financially need-based scholarships for post-secondary education in trade or technical fields and is awarded annually through the Community Foundation of Frederick County and Glade Valley Community Services. Applicant eligibility requirements are: residency in the Walkersville feeder school area, a description of financial need, career goals, and the specifics of how the funds will be used. The applicant must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational program. Preference is given to applicants who are pursuing the vocational, technical and skilled trade fields (not 4 year degrees). Applications are due in the office of The Community Foundation of Frederick County by 4:00pm, Friday, March 30th.
