About the Toy Shoppe
The Holiday Toy Shoppe is an annual program sponsored by Glade Valley Community Services, Inc. The Toy Shoppe is a community-wide effort to assist families living in the Walkersville / Woodsboro and surrounding Glade Valley area needing assistance in providing a better holiday for their children than might otherwise be possible.
The program depends to a great degree on the generosity of local churches, organizations, business and residents to provide the requested items. GVCS provides funding for the purchase of items, where needed, should community donations prove insufficient.
Toy Shoppe Donations
If you want to donate to our Holiday Toy Shoppe we can provide you with wish lists of clothing and toys, or you can adopt a child! Our distribution is always during the first week of December. We need Donors to take “mittens” with wish lists in the month of November!
Please note, we only provide for the children ages 0-18 (in school) in the family.
ONE child’s wish list would include: 2 outfits (usually pants and a top), one pack of underwear/diapers and one pack of socks, hat, gloves and 3 toys.
If there are Middle and High school children in the family, we provide gift cards a sweatshirt and books.
Extras include coats, (thanks to coat drives in the community) homemade stockings, (filled by a local church) books, wrapping paper, tape and gift certificates to hair salons, local restaurants and grocery stores.

In 2024, we helped 73 families and 169 children ages 0-18. Thank you, again, to the community for your generous support in making spirits brighter for those in need every holiday season!
Application process:
The application process for the Holiday Toy Shoppe for 2025 is closed. Previous applications that are pending documentation are still open, please check your email for further instructions.

1b) Si se ha registrado en el pasado, agregue a los niños nuevos o simplemente diga que los ha enviado en el pasado en el correo electrónico. No guardamos ningún documento/foto, pero hacemos un seguimiento de su recepción. ¡AÚN DEBE ENVIAR LOS OTROS DOCUMENTOS A CONTINUACIÓN!
2) Una identificación con foto que muestre la dirección actual. Si no tiene la dirección actual, se aceptará una factura con la dirección actual.
3) Comprobante de necesidad financiera. Puede ser UNO de los siguientes: CARTA DE SNAP (no tarjeta, debe ver el año actual en la carta), carta de FARM (actual), tarjeta de asistencia médica, talón de pago que muestre el ingreso promedio por mes.

Tenga en cuenta: no guardamos nada que envíe, eliminamos la información después de revisarla.
